perspective on compassion

i have come to the realization that the old expression 'do unto others' truly serves to be more applicable as you get older. the relationships you build with both acquaintances and lifelong friends are determined by the way you show respect for one another. i have had many encounters with people that i would have never thought to see more than once, but after building that compassionate first impression, you can hold onto those people your whole life. realizing the impact of how you treat others, regardless of the way you are treated, allows you to stand out from the rest. with the painful experience of losing friends over petty drama, i have been able to develop a comfort level with independent thoughts and the confidence to know that i deserve better. i am so grateful for life changing moments like these, even if it means experiencing unbearable pain of being hurt by someone you care about. overcoming hardships can only make you stronger and more appreciative for those in your life who will always show compassion.

serenity

some of the most treasured moments in life are when you are alone with your own thoughts and ideas.

lately i have spent quite a bit of time to myself. i have been reading, anything from classic novels to fashion magazines, enjoying coffee, and contemplating my next move in life. sometimes being caught up in your own analytical thoughts can get me into trouble, but i have tried to manage a connection to the outside world. taking a stroll through the park, calling a loved one, sharing and catching up with my special someone.

i truly live for quiet moments like these. normally, i am running at such a fast pace each day that i forget these relaxed times are worth the wait.

rules to live by...

1. surround yourself with happy people
2. act, don't wait
3. stop and smell the roses, or fruit, or trees, etc.
4. avoid the t.v. at all costs, unless its to watch a movie of course
5. work your muscles and exercise
6. take your vitamins
7. speak up with compliments and encouragement
8. eat only for energy and when hungry
9. LAUGH
10. treat yourself to flowers
11. snack on nuts
12. listen to your favorite playlist while getting ready
13. surround yourself with bright colors
14. hang a mirror reflecting the outside and view nature
15. add spices for flavor
16. stretch when overwhelmed
17. hang goal accomplishing pictures
18. give
19. create an inspiration folder
20. drink tea
21. message your scalp when stress hits
22. bask in the sunlight, while wearing sunscreen of course
23. boost your confidence, only you are in control of your mood
24. take deep breaths
25. think happy thoughts

Welcome

I have been plagued by the never ending urge to create my own blog and so here I am. I have always loved the expression of positive influences because it can be applied differently to each individual interpreter.
